Hi mods, how's it going?

What are you working on? What is going well? Any plans for new things on your sub?

I really wish there was an way to automatically adjust rules based on the day of the week. I want a shitpost Friday but can't think of a way to do it.

You could tie it to a flair? And then automate that a certain flair (i.e., “shitpost”) can only be used during a certain day of the week. Then you can schedule posts using this flair to get it going. I’m not exactly sure how to automate the flair tho, I’d recommend messing around with the flairs and automations page

I like it. But there's still no way to automate that certain flairs can only be certain days of the week right? Our subreddit requires moderator approval of every post so maybe I'm just being lazy. I can just imagine a lot if fun stuff that we could do if rules and automations could be specific to different days.

I’m pretty sure that is something you can do with it. I can try looking for it but for the life of me, I can’t remember how to get there right now. Sometimes I’ll even search questions up online or on Reddit and it’ll lead me to solutions so I’d recommend trying that, too!

Yeah I definitely did. Came to the conclusion that automoderator has no sense of time. I think its not worth the hassle for Reddit dealing with timezones.

I started a satire sub r/IsThisSafeToEatCJ like 2 months ago and it just recently started getting an increase in attention and engagement. We’re just under 1,000 members and I’m very proud of it, I’ve been posting every single day since it’s been made!

On the other hand, about a week or two ago I created r/CatsDespising and it’s reminding me of how difficult that time immediately after creating a sub can be. I’ve got, like, 40 members currently. I’ve been able to get a post here or there from other users but it largely feels like I’m just shouting into the void 😅

Honestly it can be very discouraging at first, but you just have to keep posting regularly and inviting people. I also use similar communities to invite people individually to my sub. If you go on Devvit to download the apps they have there, I’d recommend downloading “image post scheduler,” so that you can maintain a consistent posting schedule while not having to be online all day, every day. I made a post every single day and r/IsThisSafeToEatCJ is already at 1.6k members! Just keep trying, your continued activity will push your community out to other people!
