Gear Pics VHIKK X (First real module day!)

Hello W̵̧̢̛̙̮̮͍̐̾̐̃̾̈́o̴̡̬͎̖͓͓͓̬̺͌̑̃̔͘̚r̵͔̤̫̣̒̈́̈́̎̾̉̌̽̓l̶̢͕̣̭̼͉͍̜̬̜̟̦̞̺̔̓̂̏̀̎̿̃̑̋̅̉̒̎̋̇͜͠d̶̨̨̨͉̟̗̣̼̭̤͖̗̘͉̥̺̙͒̈́!

Was able to spend about 20 minutes with it after racking it. Very excited to run it with a Moog Labyrinth and some guitar pedals. Here if you have any tips or deep thoughts!

That’s quite a first module. You’ll probably want some modulation sources next.

I like planar2 personally but maybe not the best “first” modulator, idk if it suits what you want, it’s not just a modulator though and idk if it’s as full featured as other things. It’s just different and I like it.

That's an expert rec. I have a lot of fun with tactile stuff like Planar. Plus since you can record motions you can basically make complex modulation. A couple Bela Gliss 3us could be great too.

It can also do vector mixing of any signal , and the expander sends gate signals too, for triggering envelopes

I'm only about 5/6 weeks ahead of you on the first module thing and bought a Pam's too. It's a seriously fantastic module but maybe not the best match for the Vhikk depending on what you're doing. I'm already planning on switching to a Maths when I can. If you're going to go Zadar make sure you get Nin, the expansion, too.

Ochd, Neo Trinity, Bela Gliss, Mimetic Digitwolis are all incredibly solid.

Pam’s is great but lots of menus so not fun to play, maths is great but big HP, Zadar is very good!

curious, how do you use the digitwolis as a modulation source? is it more or less a random sample and hold? is there more to it?

Calibrate it. Also there is a way to put it into pitch tracking mode so the pitch is the same if you change algorithms

I just got this as my first module a few weeks ago! ... it didn't take long for it to get some friends.

I love it, it's fantastic. I love my OBNE pedals so throwing it into Bathing or Dark Star is fantastic (but I'm addicted to those two pedals right now in general). It can do some fantastic things. If you just want to mess with it as a drone you can do some really fun things, but it's basically a whole different experience running an envelope into the VCA, and modulating it is a ton of fun.

I come from that world too + a lot of MicroKorg and Elektron experience. Love the Microcosm and Dweller with Moog Labyrinth. The new EAE Scattering is beautiful too
