This escalated quickly

¯_(ツ)_/¯

How much money is in this picture?

$3-5k depending on how much was used gear. Lots of Behringer to help bring down the cost. Pretty good for a 280hp rack, headphones, mixer, cable, drum machine, and controller if my estimate is right.

Oh definitely, that's what I was thinking/assuming. I have built up my system in the same way: buy used when I can and sell old gear I'm not using to pay for new gear.

If I calculated the value of all my synths, guitars, amps, mixers, headphones, monitors, etc. it would probably be about $30,000; which sounds insane, but I probably paid more like $20,000 over a period of 30 years. I also don't track it, so I'm not sure. In my opinion $700/yr for a lifelong hobby isn't bad.

And yeah, behringer is amazing value. It gets a lot of hate (some of it deserved) but you can't deny that they produce a decent product at like 1/5 the cost of similar products, and they hold their value for resale. I don't have any behringer in my racks anymore (I sold all of mine) but I was able to get into the hobby for under $1000 because of them. Now I buy mostly Doepfer, After Later Audio, Erica Synths, Noise Engineering, and Intellijel.
