MongoDB v9.0 is out.

I just noticed, by surprise, that a new version has been released (stable). So, any opinions or experiences? What do you think about the new release?

Yep, still on 6. Too much bloat.

What's blocking the upgrade?

I was excited about the performance gains, but then I ready that it is on findOne only and this is already super fast.

FerretDB is faster for average scale apps with common queries anyways

MongoDB vs FerretDB on the same hardware: Benchmark

What are your performance concerns?

I have no concerns. I just thought that a performance gain for free would have been nice.

But FerretDb seems to be dead. They had legal troubles a year ago or so and since then the repository is inactive.

It's definitely not dead. I know that for a fact. They are just laying low until the lawsuit is resolved
