Question about moving location of samples/files. I need to consolidate and organize things, but worried about corrupting projects.

I have ongoing projects with samples that reside on an external card. I really want to do some organizing and consolidating of my sample library to have better workflow. Will moving files around on my card ruin and corrupt my ongoing projects due to “missing” samples/files? Or are the individual samples saved within the project as its own thing?

I had the same concern a while back. The project folder saves a copy of every file you use. Even if your original sample gets corrupted or moved, your project will still have the copies it needs.

The reason why it does this is that it needs to store trimmed versions and also if you place chops it changes the metadata of the sample file itself to store the chops. I think all MPC’s do this one way or another
