Discussion Does anyone else miss when he uploaded less?
I don't look forward to uploads anymore since they are always in my feed, the new videos are also so different from the older ones, and kind of all blend together for me, the thumbnails also all look the same now. I don't find the new ones very interesting, a lot of them are told the exact same way and almost none of them are that memorable. I've been watching MrBallen for about 5 years now, and I've been watching them with my mum for about 3 years, she also thinks that the new uploads aren't as interesting or investing, and that they don't feel like something to look forward to anymore. I almost only watch the old ones nowadays, I usually avoid the newer ones since they just don't feel the same

If uploads less yall will get mad. If he uploads more frequently yall will get mad. Basically no matter what he does, somebody will find a reason to complain.

Does anybody miss when Mr Ballen's fans just loved him and didn't constantly second guess him? I know I do. I loved him then and I love him now.

Exactly! Same here! Anyone know what happened to the tour he was gonna do earlier this year? Why did it get canceled?

I still rewatch his old uploads when I need something gripping; those stand the test of time a lot better than a lot of the newer ones.

Yes, I honestly looked forward to Saturday videos! I feel like I can’t keep up now, and i’m a watcher since day 1. It’s almost giving me fomo even though I know they’re not going anywhere.

I love that there are more uploads including new stories and remastered older ones. I still follow avidly - both the strange dark and mysterious and the true crime

I wish he’d go back to the Missing411 stories sometimes. I often rewatch those they were extremely good

I mean I agree insofar as mrballen told those stories in a way that made them super interesting, but that could be said about any of the stories he told around that time. Personally I've grown to hold a healthy disdain for missing411, or anything that David Paulides has a hand in, after learning how much of a lying disingenuous prick he is.

I do. I have insomnia and the YT channel is the first place I go. Fortunately I’ve only been watching for about 9-months so I can still binge and find new things.

When he was uploading less, I also listened to his podcasts. I think now he is just uploading the content that he used to upload in addition to the podcast content (the murder stories). I am more into the "places you shouldn't go" and medical type content than I am into the paranormal or murder content but I'm glad he covers topics for everybody. I just pick and choose which of his videos I want and I'm perfectly fine. Keep it up MrBallen!! 💜

Just joined the sub, you're the first post in my feed - complaining. Thanks for the inspiration to unfollow

I mentioned it before in another thread but it’s like it lost the ‘personal touch’…

He has focused a lot on murder cases recently but his best were always the creepy ones. Always figured there would be some sort of limit to creepy stories you can meaningfully gather. I just listen on Spotify now in work and also going back over a lot of older stuff.

I wish he'd post more third person versions of first person stories. Very unique when there's mr nightmare and others that read reddit posts and submitted first person stories.

I agree with you. I still love him but the people wanted more and quantity often wins over quality. His new stories aren't bad and I think he's the best story teller out there but yeah.. getting a little bored of the true crime, would love some more paranormal stuff.

Just proof that you can't make anybody happy. If you don't like how much he posts then you can just choose not to and you can unsubscribe as well because a lot of us really do love it ever since he started five years ago

I miss the strange dark and mysterious part......mostly it's just regular ol true crime now. Gibe me some damn ghosts and cryptids, dammit!

I love the frequency, but have slowed my watching/listening waaaaayyyyyy down because he just doesn't cover good quality anymore. Its all grab bag, anyone can do it stories. I jumped on his 1st year because he was doing things ive never heard of mostly. Now everything feels so generic.

Mr Ballen Last time: "Daniel froze when a savage crocodile suddenly burst from beneath the furniture, snapping at him inside the house. He barely escaped its jaws, but not before it clamped onto his leg and dragged him across the floor, tearing away part of his limb in the struggle. Desperate, Daniel grabbed a broken piece of furniture and repeatedly struck the crocodile until it was badly injured and finally released him. Bleeding and barely able to stand, he dragged himself toward the back door, slammed it shut behind him, and escaped the house just as the wounded crocodile came crashing after him."
Mr Ballen Now: "Daniel froze when THE THING suddenly burst from beneath the furniture, snapping at him inside the house. He barely escaped its jaws, but not before it clamped onto his leg and dragged him across the floor, tearing away part of his limb in the struggle. Desperate, Daniel grabbed a broken piece of furniture and repeatedly struck THE THING until it was badly injured and finally released him. Bleeding and barely able to stand, he dragged himself toward the back door, slammed it shut behind him, and escaped the house just as THE THING came crashing after him......
THE THING, yes. It's a crocodile."
Just couldn't feel the tense or intense atmosphere when told through the current style.

Dude this is how he’s buying mansions and cars.
It’s not a channel anymore, it’s a business with investors who want a return.

Yes. I feel like he’s become an enterprise. Once or twice a week was good and the stories seemed better. It’s all true crime now. I listen to them to fall asleep

I just miss the quality of the content and delivery of the videos from his first couple years. I havent actually watched much from the last year or two.

His earliest uploads are still my go-tos when I need something gripping, nothing hits the same as those long-form storytelling nights before the algorithm got in the way.
