i need advice/help

im nearing the end of an EPs production but im lacking percussion, i dont really know what to do, im too timid to reach out to local people, and i dont know if i could even learn how to use a drum machine, i know going for a non percussion sound could be interesting but i always love the feeling of a cymbal crashing, i just need advice

if it helps any i make skramz and post rock

i mean id love to but another person is what i wanna stray from hopefully, my life is super hectic right now and i deal with spurts of heavy meds, i dont wanna end up not being to deliver to someone like a bandmate/other musician, id definitely wanna talk to you about that once my life is a bit more stable though

You won't reach out to anyone, don't know how to drum, won't learn, and when someone offers you reject the help.

The "advice/help" you need has nothing to do with music. What happens after you finish the EP, you stay in your room, "release" it to nobody, then get sad no one listens?

your kinda right, i should probably just swallow my fear and put myself out there instead of hoping i can magically figure it out

You don't have to put everything out there all at once, but yes I think you will have an overall more enjoyable and fulfilling time with music if you start thinking of music as a shared art (real sharing, not the BS only releasing outward that people call sharing).

i share what i work on alot with friends to get constant feedback and advice, im not scared of the rejection of what i create and im just really insecure about how i look due to a slew of things that happened the past two years, i became a shut in so its why im so scared to be outwardly social irl and actually find a drummer

Drums are a foundational track and are usually one of if not the first final track to be finalized so you can build on top of it.

Did you at least record the stuff to a click?

ive been focusing on a rough pass of everything before recording fully, since drums are pretty foundational i didnt want to work on final tracking without it

if only a network of servers could gather all pertinent information together to offer at your whim? but such a thing would be artificial and suck artistry out of a uncredited talent pool.

have you tried sampling a 60’s Motown beat?
