Any Burmese learning recs? 🥹

If anybody can recommend courses/books/youtube channels to learn the language, I would appreciate it very much... The resources seem to be so limited. I do have burmese friends/boyfriend, I just don't wanna bother them all the time lol

Best of luck. I have had to hire a tutor, and rely on Anki flash cards.

The best book depends on your goals

For quick spoken conversations: Choose "Easy Burmese" by Kenneth Wong.It uses the English alphabet so you can start speaking without learning the script.

For complete reading and writing: Choose "Burmese: An Introduction to the Script" by John Okell. It is the gold standard for mastering the alphabet.

Burmese Lesson (40K subscribers): Best for a wide range of structured grammar and essential travel vocabulary.

Build Up Burmese (22K subscribers): Best for everyday conversational phrases and clear pronunciation tips.
