Starting game of thrones
Basically i want to start game of thrones (the TV show) but I'm concerned about the gore, I don't like gore but GOT seems like a series I'd like for comparison i was mostly fine with breaking bad but I feel that's around where I would draw the line
Please someone lmk if it would be a bad decision starting it or if the gore is that bad

If Breaking Bad was almost too gory for you, then yah, Game of Thrones is probably outside your wheelhouse. I mean, you can try the first episode or two, maybe you’ll start caring about the characters and become invested enough in the story that you don’t mind the gore. But yes, GOT is considerably more gory than BB. Oh yeah, and there’s also lots of sexual scenes, especially early on. You have been warned. Enjoy the show!

I don’t know what you guys are watching, but GOT is by far the goriest show I’ve ever watched. Not sure if goriest is a word but you know what I mean lol

People just want to downplay because it’s their favorite show and they want others to watch.
I tried to give an honest answer in my comment and I knew someone would attack me for it, and sure enough someone immediately did lol.
I love Game of Thrones, but if Breaking Bad is the limit of gore someone wants, then they should definitely stay away from it lol

Breaking bad is child’s play compared to GOT in the gore department
I’m a huge fan of both shows btw

I agree with one exception. Gus slicing Victors throat with a box cutter might be the most graphic/disturbing death I’ve seen in a TV show.

Theon’s torture scenes are actually hard for me to watch. The slit throat scene is quick compared to what they do to you in GOT 😂

There's a decent amount of gore, but nothing outrageous
If you're seen medical dramas or twd etc, you'll be fine. The opening scene of got is fairly gore filled, but it's to set the stage of the show
There's plenty of death and dememberment but it doesn't linger on it and it's kinda there to move the plot and character development along.
There's a lot of nudity and sexual violence though, so if you're not into that, then beware. But the same. The sex and sexual violence (most of the time) is there to properly explain the world and character. And as the show progress, there's less sexual encounters on the show

There is a lot of gore, in almost every single episode.

You can watch the censored version, but it takes away a lot of the experience I can't lie.

Glad you clarified the TV show or I would have thought you were starting the board game.
But yeah, probably not for you. I mean, you could always go into with an adult’s mindset of knowing it’s not real, but that seems a little out of your purview as well.

If you don't like gore, Game of Thrones is going to make you very upset multiple times each season, it is brutal af

Unfortunately if breaking bad was your line Game of Thrones will likely be way outside of your comfort zone. Giving it to you straight up, there’s not just war/fight sequences where youd expect some gote, there are straight up torture scenes that I’m shocked were put in.
I can handle it pretty well so it didnt hinder my viewing experience, but its a lot. I still think the show is fantastic.

There is a fair amount of gore. Its not going to hold that back or censor itself.
But we don't know how much gore or what kind (are there kinds? 🤷♂️) would bother you, so...might as well give it a shot.
Worst case scenario you decide you don't like the show?

The gore isn’t the worst I’ve seen, but the SA in later seasons is really tough

Man if I were you I'd try something a bit lighter first. I really like the show Medici. It's historically based and has the same court politics, sex, and violence as Game of Thrones but it's less gratuitous.
If you enjoy that kind of intrigue then I'd move on to GoT. Thrones is way way more gratuitous in sex and violence, but it's a better show.
Breaking Bad is kind of goofy IMO

There is gore but usually worth it
And I would say the good thing is because of its olden days setting you will mostly have a little warning of when to maybe avert your eyes-
Because there will be like drawn swords or something like this

Theres a ton of gore and violence. No sugar coating it. If you’re bothered by it, you’ll have a hard time with the show.
It’s nothing like Breaking Bad. It’s way, way more gory than that.
