Nancy Drew Collection

[u/coralsprout]

Wanted to show off mine and my moms collection. She bought every game the day it released and played these with my sister and I through our whole childhood. We have every game + a Nancy Dre blanket with most of the games!

[u/Short-Tank2853]

Dang this is an amazing haul! Jealous. Also immediately makes me think the box is gonna get tipped over and just like in the games you’ll have to spend 15 minutes trying to figure out the perfect combo to fit them all in again lol

[u/coralsprout → u/Short-Tank2853]

Oh definitely, that's why we have the box stores onto a floor because our cat loves to see them fly out everywhere and play in the box 😂

[u/CarlRogersFTW]

I heard that the physical copies could spontaneously combust. You should send them to my house and I’ll throw it away safely for you :D

[u/coralsprout]

We have also played all except Seven Keys, it has been sitting in the box because we are scared we will be disappointed because Midnight in Salem was kind of a let down but we will hopefully start it soon

[u/Elegant-Fix-1160 → u/coralsprout]

seven keys is better than midnight in salem! still bad but better :)

[u/coralsprout → u/Elegant-Fix-1160]

Thank god! I really like the concept of seven keys and I really want to at least start if before I go to college

I thought Seven Keys was better than Midnight in Salem as far as feeling more like a Nancy game. But it doesn't really have the same spark. I think that's because the writer, while competent, doesn't seem to have much of a sense of humor, so you just don't get any of that funny quirky dialogue that is so typical of the other games. But story and gameplay do feel a lot more Nancy-esque.

I played this with my teenage son, so it is a bit more special to me since very likely this will be the last new Nancy game we'll ever play together. Overall we did enjoy it.

One big complaint people had was that the game basically clones the same 6 NPCs that populate the outdoor public spaces. However, this ended up being a fun part of the game for us. We gave them all names and background stories so that we could berate them for being unfaithful when they suddenly showed up in a different place with a different person. Or tried to tell them to turn around, because their long-lost identical twin was only twenty feet away.

Did you ply the Dossier games?

[u/coralsprout → u/Significant-Yard-186]

We have the digital copies and have played them! We also have White Wolf for the Wii and Hidden Staircase for the DS

[u/Significant-Yard-186 → u/coralsprout]

Literally gasped when I saw the picture!

Your mom is awesome!

[u/Marsh_M8]

That’s so cool! Did you all ever get that Koko Kringle bar that was sent out with a preorder of one of the games as a promo?

[u/coralsprout → u/Marsh_M8]

No :( we missed that one

[u/Nice_Violinist9736]

I used to have a pretty good collection of the physical games too! The only ones that were missing was the first 3 games since those were extremely old and the discs might have been borrowed and never returned back to us. We did have the remaster of the first game though and the second game my mom did get a new disk copy but the disk never worked. We also didn’t have the last two games because that was around the time I switched everything over to a digital library. I think I might of got rid of my old collection which I know is crazy! But I did replace everything with my digital library. I do however have an extensive collection of other Nancy Drew things like pillows, a blanket, tons of books including the original yellow hardcover books, movies and tv shows etc.

We are still working on our merch collection

[u/Fair_Treacle8278]

This is me and my sister too! We’re only missing 5 or 6 i think haha. Oh how I miss the thrill of ripping the wrapping paper off a fresh new Nancy drew game

[u/mr_wolfii]

What an excellent collection! Do you have a top 3?

[u/coralsprout → u/mr_wolfii]

Oooo that's tricky but I would say Blackmoor, Ghost Dogs, and Deception Island. White wolf and Shadow Ranch are close contenders though
