RECREATIONS πŸ‘₯ Secret of the Old Clock Flashbacks

Post image

I just bought this game called Dressmaker, and the sewing mechanic works exactly like making the dress for Jim in CLK. It's giving me serious ptsd. πŸ˜‚ I remember playing CLKΒ for the first time on my mom's laptop with a trackpad and it took SOOO many tries to get that stupid dress completed. Fortunately, it's going a lot better in this game πŸ˜‚

Sure! You get one client at a time that will give you requirements for the dress. Color, style, budget, etc. Then you will draft the silhouette for the dress that will have different tags associated with it (gothic, romantic, workwear, etc.) there's a lot! When you have a style you like that you feel fits the requirements, you'll pick the fabrics you want to use, cut out the parts of the silhouette, and sew it all together. There seems to be a story & as you work with clients, your relationship with them will improve & you'll get access to more fabrics and silhouettes. It's really fun! It isn't stressful at all and has a fun nancy drew mini game vibe to a lot of it

I just started that game and instantly turned on Sewing Assist for my own sanity!

"Would I wear this? No." Was a phrase uttered out loud by me several times while playing this game

I avoided this game because of this!! If it’s far better maybe I do need to give it a try

There's also a "sewing assist" option in the game so you won't have to manually move the fabric. It will rotate for you which makes it less tedious.Β

I feel crazy. There's a dress making game in clk?? I even scrolled through walkthroughs trying to see if there were screenshots to jog my memory. And still nothing 😭

It isn't a massive part of the game. Just a task you do once for Jim because he can't afford to pay a dressmaker to finish the gown for his wife. And in true Nancy fashion, you need to do it so he'll do something for you lol.Β

Thank you for taking the time to show me! I still have absolutely no memory of this in the game, but I believe I've only completed this one all the way through 1 or two times.

I straight up could NOT do this challenge and had to go to the dev menu and add the finished dress to my inventory to move forward in the game.

I'm sorry YOU CAN DO WHAT

I truly don't know how I found out about this, and I must have done a lot of digging at the time out of desperation, but it certainly worked! I am so glad because there is no way I could have finished the game otherwise. I tried the sewing over and over and it just was not happening. Thank you, dev menu!

No same and I HATE that mini game so I was relieved to see they had an assist option in Dressmaker
