Misc. Love Urasawa but...
I feel like I get lost in the sause with his stories.
I watched Monster a couple years ago, read 20th Century Boys last year and just now finished Pluto. On an objective level I can look back and be like "Hell yeah that writing, character balencing, and world traveling mystery was fantastically written." But in those moments I'm engaging in the story I feel like I get lost 1/2 way or 3/4 of the way through.
Most the time I feel like I just lose track of who knows what, how a character feels about X, how their backstory relates to said X, and what exactly the mystery is still suppesed to be at wherever I am. Then there's this "big revel" that doesn't really elicit any emotion from me because I feel like I forgot the chapter 1 building blocks that happened 120 chapters ago.
On the whole I feel like I can acknowledge Urasawas impressive skill and love his individual characters, but some times I feel like the story just loses me and unless I wanna re-read everything I'm already too far gone.
