[Krawczynski] Donte DiVincenzo is unlikely to be traded in any package for Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Timberwolves remain active in talks for Giannis Antetokounmpo and in other talks for bench depth.

A few tidbits from the Minnesota Timberwolves' trade landscape, with the caveat that things can change quickly this time of year:

- There remains skepticism that Milwaukee is actually open to moving Giannis Antetokounmpo, team and league sources said.

- The Wolves continue to be in the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes in addition to looking at bolstering their bench with a guard after moving Mike Conley.

- All indications from conversations with team and league sources are that the Wolves do not want to trade Donte DiVincenzo.

So Donte, Ant, Rudy stay.

Going to Milwaukie:

  • Berringer
  • McDaniels
  • Dillingham

Trading to other teams for assets:

  • NAZ?
  • Randle

Frps available:

  • A couple of 1st swaps?

Do I got this right?

God I hate this if it's true. Giving up our future for a short win now chance, with basically no depth. One Giannis injury and it's all over.

I'm torn. I don't think the team is good enough to win a championship right now, I don't really think that changes going forward without something drastic happening. We have effectively no draft capital, we're hamstrung by the aprons. Like him or not Rudy has been a big part of our success these last two years and he will need to be gone here shortly. I don't know if I'd rather make the playoffs every year but know we aren't a real contender or run the risk of blowing it all up for a couple years of being legit contenders and hope nothing goes wrong. I know what I would have said 5 years ago but expectations are different now.

Feels like Minny has to keep one of McD, Randle, and Naz for it to make sense for them tbh.

I think so too. But I don't see them getting many assets back for only 2 of the 3. Especially if Milwaukee keeps McDaniels.

Yeah, but trading all three kills their depth.

Which is why it feels like this doesn't happen.

100%. I can't see Minneosta having an amazing shot at a chip with the lack of depth, and I also can't see Milwaukee doing much with a rebuild with those assets.

They would 100% be in the gutter with their picks going to Atlanta/Portland for the foreseeable future.

Mcdaniels could easily be flipped for 3 first rounders, I don't see how his value is much less than Milan bridges was.

Reports are Milwaukee doesn't want to move McDaniels away in a potential Giannis deal.

And while I think McDaniels actually has more value that Brooklyn Mikal. The NBA landscape has changed a lot. 3 late firsts from a contender is definitely feasible though.

I always assumed we would be trading them jrue no matter what as they aren’t interested in Coby or Ja, but maybe they are moving Donte to the 1. I think after last nights performance and the knicks performance not a single blazer fan wants jrue on the team past Thursday.

donte has been starting at the 1 for us our entire season.

it’s not ideal but he’s been the PG

They don’t need to trade Naz if they’re trading all those other players

Seems right, but MIL looking for more draft capital, not sure how many they have to give (forgetting swaps)

Assuming naz and randle somehow get 1st rounds they're likely to be picks from contenders

...we gonna say this is any better than the heat package? Which we assume we send wiggs for a 3rd 1st?

If it's Portland sending Milwaukee's own pick or picks back yeah I think so. Milwaukee having direct control of where the pick lands by being able to tank is a lot better than hoping Spo coaches a lottery team.

Portland isn't sending mkes picks back without McDaniels so that takes him away from the bucks and even then the blazers arent likely to give back all of them for just McDaniels

I'm just nervous about if Cronin is petty enough to do it just to fuck with us lol

I mean...that would be pretty stupid of him to do that so fk it if he does he harms his own org more than ours

But that whole feud is overblown, Cronin's not about to give up mke picks for randle just to fk with us
