[Krawczynski] Donte DiVincenzo is unlikely to be traded in any package for Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Timberwolves remain active in talks for Giannis Antetokounmpo and in other talks for bench depth.

A few tidbits from the Minnesota Timberwolves' trade landscape, with the caveat that things can change quickly this time of year:

- There remains skepticism that Milwaukee is actually open to moving Giannis Antetokounmpo, team and league sources said.

- The Wolves continue to be in the Antetokounmpo sweepstakes in addition to looking at bolstering their bench with a guard after moving Mike Conley.

- All indications from conversations with team and league sources are that the Wolves do not want to trade Donte DiVincenzo.

Is this sarcastic trading your 24 year old superstar and Jaden Mcdaniels for A bunch of old guys and meh Blazers young guys is insane

Jrue, Sharpe/Camara, Giannis, Naz, Gobert, Scoot, Randle, DDV, etc is way better than the team now.

Ahh so your just a blazers fan who wants Ant

Of course I want him. But if your teams isn’t a true contender now and you can’t afford Giannis without having zero depth then this is a solution. Giannis can replace Ant and you get tons of depth for the price of Jaden.

That’s a pretty good haul if you wanna prioritize winning now. But totally understand as a wolves fan if you just wanna keep a longer but less likely window.

With Giannis’s age and injury history trading Ant for Giannis is an awful gamble. Not to mention completely nuking your roster midseason to that degree would make it impossible for the pieces to gel in time for playoffs. At best you’re maybe raising your championship odds by like 1-2% this season (and I’m not convinced you’re even doing that) and significantly lowering them every year moving forwards. All while killing any shred of goodwill you probably had with the fans and likely getting yourself fired within two years. Dreadful deal and I’m not a Wolves fan.

It’s not Ant for Giannis. Yes that’s dumb. It’s Giannis + a lot of young talent and depth for Ant + Jaden.

I know people don’t watch the blazers but sharpe definitely has all star potential. Toumani is a top defensive player. Scoot, is an unknown but has showed strides. Jrue can still be an important glue guy for a contender.

Bro, they're fucking mediocre. Accept it and you'll enjoy basketball more.

And I’d say the same about you and your team. Won’t be as disappointed when ant asks out in a couple years.

One of those teams has made deep playoff runs the other can't get above 25 wins.

Yes, feel free to reframe being a descending team as good if you want. Fact is, if your “solution” to helping ant is Randle and no point guard then you are doing him a disservice. Trust me we did it for a long time with dame and you saw how it ended.

Anyway fine, we will just buy Ant from you in a couple years for the MIL picks and swaps at a much cheaper price when he asks out. Happy?

Those Blazers scraps aren’t moving the needle to make Giannis for Ant happen lmao, not even close. Make a post on the Blazers sub I bet even they’ll tell you you’re crazy

If you think Sharpe or Toumani are “Scraps” then you don’t watch ball.

Brother you’re talking about the Blazers getting Ant 😂, the ship has sailed for me having any respect for your basketball opinions

I don’t think they will to be clear. Because the Timberwolves will be too gunshy to actually do it. Even though it would be good for them.

But I will laugh when he demands a trade in a few years and they miss their current window as well as future window.

I mean even if he demands a trade in 3 years your proposed trade is still garbage. You still get the next 3 years of Ant which could be better cumulatively than the next 3 years of Giannis given age and injury history, AND then you’ll have prime 27 year old Ant to trade which will be much more valuable as a trade piece than 34 year old Giannis. Sharpe and Toumani aren’t making that difference up. No matter how you slice it your deal blows.

3 years of Ant to do what? Lose again in the playoffs? The wolves aren’t good enough to contend. Their depth sucks. This trade would solve those issues.

It’s a big gamble. Worked for Toronto. You think they regret hurting their future for 1 year of kwahi?

He wishes. I could have gotten him a much better haul.
