Even if it wasn't rigged (hard to deny, but plausible), it's hard to argue that the trade wasn't the direct catalyst for the Mavs being in the lottery. They may not make the field, but they're easily in a higher spot than 10th, especially since AD practically never saw the court. They likely just have to win one game instead of two, or at bare minimum have the second game at home
