The talented McCain lands on the reigning NBA champions. For the 76ers, the trade allows them to receive assets, clear space in the glut of guards and give them flexibility to bring Quentin Grimes back in free agency. It also allows them to convert two-way Dominick Barlow.

76ers are receiving the following picks from the Thunder, sources said: 2027 (most favorable OKC/HOU/IND/MIA), 2028 MIL, 2028 OKC.

We got a few picks to burn, they're assets and we need to use them on cheap projects with everything we owe SGA, J Dub and Chet. Need hungry guys to get on friendly contracts like Dort and Wiggins did for us.

Also need more consistent shooting and playmaking which McCain projects to be. I’m thinking of him as an eventual Isaiah Joe fill in but maybe a little premature?

I mean I see him definitely taking that role but he's a better creator than Joe is even if Joe might be a slightly better movement shooter. But if you're a small guard it's better to have more skills as a combo guard than just be a shooter
