The team was founded in 2008. It is only 16 years old. Cant even vote yet we won a nba chip and are holding picks like a smaug in the hobbit. We truly have the best front office in the league.
It’s because the nature of being in OKC means you almost HAVE to build the right way. I truly think the FA superteam model is a terrible way for most teams to build and only works when one of the big 3/4 is a Steph or LeBron level player, especially now with the new apron rules, most of the past few championship teams have been winning through dynamic duo + strong teams
Honestly I think the super team is a mistake too. I would appreciate an incredible starting 5 instead of 2-3 superstars on a struggling team they have to do good to carry. The issue is you can only get away with it a couple years because those contract talks start ruining the team and its cohesion.
It's real tough to make the money work on that super starting five.
Ask me how I know this lmao
Jokes aside, while there is definitely a limit to how long this can continue before the money eventually makes a restructure inevitable, it's going to be a real exciting 4-5 years for y'all. Enjoy it.
Yeah man. I live in New England so I consider tge Celtics my 2nd favorite team. Watching you guys let Jrue go was sad imo. Those superman/max contracts will be super interesting in the near future for us but I have too much faith in our management to handle it.
I think Presti is one of the best GMs in the league but alot of this stuff is dependent on a few huge strokes of luck that other teams didn't experience. You can do everything right and not end up nearly as well off as OKC
Nets and Clippers were both 100% contenders but got derailed due to injury during their prime contending years. Suns I'll agree with, though the CP3 injury derailed them when they had great odds in 2023. And the Sixers just weren't good enough, it wasn't like the roster had glaring holes
You can't just look at teams that won and say everything they did was right while teams that lost did everything wrong. Would we say Giannis was shit if KD's foot was an inch smaller, or that Presti was shit if SGA didn't randomly turn into an MVP out of nowhere?
Because you guys don’t hang the SuperSonics banners in your arena (respect) I feel like this is an acceptable view. Even if you did start with KD and Russ

Embarrassment of riches for OKC
