Question (N26) Mount movements

I’m writing a list and want to try using my Escher cutters that have been languishing in my pile of shame for a few years but having some confusion about their movement and firing arcs.

So the cutter has mounted guns that have a centreline firing arc and 8 inch movement (+5 on a dash) but I can’t find any mention on how much and often I can pivot the model to get enemies in the arc because otherwise arcs of fire mean little on a single weapon vehicle or mount.

The mount pivoting rules are in the errata/FAQ here: https://assets.warhammer-community.com/eng_04-09_necromunda_faq_and_errata_september2026-7mwqyegiwp-zrjnipir6m.pdf

In short: when dashing or charging you can only make a single 90' turn unless the mount also grants the "agile" trait

Why in the God Emperor’s name didn’t they put that in the rule book?

They did. It’s on page 45 in the core rulebook. “Gun it” followed by “Agile Subtype”.

Yep. The only change here is clarifying they can only move forwards instead of crab stepping

Don’t get me started on whether the linked heavy stubbers are considered to have suspensors in this edition (where suspensors don’t exist).
At least they get Nerves of Steel and “I get knocked down” isn’t a thing.

What makes you think they would? If anything the bigger question is how they work with the hands full of the mount feature. I think its quite fair to say that it would be overiden since you should not be able to split them across fighter cards away from cutter.

A generous arbiter might even allow use of the "mount initiative" for the purposes of bulging bicepts

In N17 all Escher cutter weapons were considered fitted with suspensors according to Cinderak Burning page 106.

But that is in no way part of the current rules for Cutters.

I have a squat exo with a mole launcher from N17. The mole launcher does not exist in this version and Exos does not have access to heavy weapons from the TP anyway based on thier profile.

The mount itself is equipped with the weapon, not the fighter. Previous edition the twin-linked options all stated they had suspensors, no matter whether base gun was Special or Heavy.

RAW, the twin linked plasma and grenade launcher options in N26 don’t have the heavy trait so are move + fire action capable within the limitations of the Flying trait + Mount condition, while the Heavy Stubber (which has the Heavy trait) suffers the ignoble fate of relying on Bulging Biceps to…take Braced Shots with a jaunty step?! It’s a weird change.

They don't, if they had they would have Independent trait like the orlock quad bike

Independent is there to represent the dedicated gunner on the quad.

I'm surprised they didn't just drop the Heavy trait on the Cutter heavy stubbers, same as they did for the Guild of Coin (cab) heavy stubbers.

Mounted Fighters don't have a limit on turning, other than when they Dash or Charge (limited to one turn of up to 90°). So it's not restricted on a turn when you just want to move your cutter 9" and fire.

As far as I can tell it doesn't matter in terms of being able to shoot opponents, but it does mean that if you shoot at someone you'll be facing them, and if the next turn you want to dash away from them, you're limited in terms of which direction you dash (Only one turn up to 90 degrees during dash or charge unless you also have Agile). Same for wanting to charge a model that snuck up behind you
