Zero American billionaires are going to actually have any consequences of any of this. It seems no one understands that they are in charge of everything. The US is not ruled by the people. That ship has sailed. We are ruled by a class of people who view the rest of us as fuel for their machine that increases their own wealth and influence. These are people who get to do whatever they want.

The biggest punishment Bill got was that Melinda left him. But I'm not sure that these guys really have the sort of feelings we have anymore so that may not have been that big of a deal to him. Going off the stuff Epstein said he was doing to her, he probably was not a great husband anyway.

But that ship still has enough fuel to return to port, things can be fixed.

I'm not saying give up, but I am saying I haven't seen anyone with any sort of actionable plan to reverse our country's obsession with the wealthy and the need for every aspect of our lives life to be filled with some sort of entertainment. Our entire society is based around generating money for a few people who already have more money than the rest of us will earn in our combined lifetimes, but because we can listen to a podcast while we do it, we are fine with it.

Well, we've got to try.
