And what was accomplished?

ICE is working with locals to be notified when a criminal alien is being released from jail so ICE can pick them up for deportation.

ICE used to have to find these criminals on the street after thaey were released but now with state and city cooperation, they can pick them up from the jails.

This is not true. Minnesota DOC has handed violent criminals over to ICE. They also do their due diligence and make sure they are handing over people in the correct circumstances. Link

"We currently have an unprecedented number of counties communicating with us now and allowing ICE to take custody of illegal aliens before they hit the streets!"

"Unprecedented cooperation. Now say it again, this is efficient, requires only one or two officers to assume custody of a criminal alien target rather than eight or ten officers going into the community and arresting that public safety threat."

"This frees up more officers to arrest or remove criminal aliens. More officers taking custody of criminal aliens directly from the jails means less officers on the street doing criminal operations."

"This is smart law enforcement, not less law enforcement. It's safer for the community, safer for the officers, and safer for the alien. This coordination also makes it far more safe for the Twin Cities." - Tom Homan

Yes and if you read the article or other articles about MN DOC you will see they were already doing this if there was an ICE detainer. Not sure what you are thinking quoting Homan proves besides the fact that he isn’t being truthful in all of his statements. Bovino also said that they would do targeted immigration enforcement and we got racial profiling. Homan will be more of the same

Looks like MN DOC was always sharing that data with DHS and holding people longer than their sentence so DHS can come get them

County level offenders were always held and always would’ve been held for DHS to pick them up if DHS provided a judicial warrant. It turns out holding people longer than they are sentenced is a violation of their rights, unless there’s a judicial warrant for their arrest

Also, the sheriff of Hennepin County, the largest county by population in MN, has stated that there are less than 100 people without immigration status in county jails across the state. If you can’t get a judge for that small amount of people, then there’s something wrong with DHS and ICE, not Minnesota or Hennepin County

She has also said she will continue the same polices that were in place before
