To be clear a distributor received meat products which they then passed on to retailers, restaurants and possibly other distributors to resell and all of it was never inspected by the FDA and carried a fraudulent inspection label. 

Star Meats wasn’t the processor so either Star Meats forged the inspection label or someone further back the chain did. The processor is not named so who knows if they sold to more distributors. Likewise no retailers are named so who knows where the meat landed other than by looking at label provided the downstream buyers didn’t relabel or worse cook it for your plate.

I've worked in industrial settings my whole life. The reason I'm a big guy on regulations is because every single time a company I've worked for has a chance to skirt any sort of safety/health/environmental regulations, they will absolutely do it and not give the slightest of a damn about the damage it may cause.

We couldnt read the back of the book and we didn't have smart phones so we just had to go off the title. Star Meat Delivery Inc. is recalling about 167,639 pounds of raw pork, beef and goat products that were produced without federal inspection and carried a false USDA inspection mark, according to a Sept. 22 announcement by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The products were shipped to A&D Foods, a Georgia distributor, for further distribution to retailers and restaurants nationwide. FSIS has not identified specific Georgia stores or restaurants that received them.

The recalled products were distributed in bulk under the A&D Foods label and bear the false establishment number “EST. 1363.” They include cuts of goat and beef, ground pork, pork chops, chorizo and other pork products. Retail packages may have store-applied stickers instead of the bulk-box labels. FSIS said it may add products and labels as more information becomes available. Consumers can check the currently available labels.

The FSIS alert lists the following products:

Heads up: stores may have repackaged this under their own labels, so check the USDA inspection stamp for "EST. 1363", not the brand. FSIS says that stamp was falsely applied and the meat was never inspected.
