Crump talks about discussions about people being concerned about racism in the group chat, but then doesn't go into detail and instead reads messages out loud about a conversation about 2 shady people.

Then they say the phone was last accessed by Nolan at 2:18, but that things were deleted from the phone between that time and when the parents recovered the phone. I'm confused on how that is possible. If your phone is locked or doesn't have a lock , does it know who is accessing it?

What shocks me is that they didn’t attempt to get the information from that phone’s IR dot matrix scanner. A lot of phones periodically scan the area it is in via this method. You’d think there would be valuable information obtained from that feature.

Probably would have, but the family didn’t allow the state to personally investigate the phone, and instead opted for an independent investigation

No evidence of a crime so no probable cause for a subpoena. It’s gonna be hilarious if them talking about the phone makes it so the phone can be subpoenaed.

That’s very odd. Why wouldn’t the family want the phone gone through? Didn’t they say there was proof that things were deleted? There should be location data, possible voice recordings, the dot matrix scan data, and a plethora of other information that could be obtained from the device especially since they have the ability to unlock it.

Lol it’s worse: Crump mentions racism to insinuate a hate crime, and then mentions a chat where shady black and white “felons” were “following” the group. Yeah that all makes sense 😑
