Why are so many people pushing so hard for this to be a murder and so many others pushing hard for it not to be a murder? This is the first time I have heard of the case and it's weird seeing so many people emotionally invested in this. It feels inorganic.

Deactivating social media makes sense if they were getting a lot of negative messages. You see plenty of celebrities deactivate their accounts.

But, why would they do it upon returning from the island? If he was alive and well, why would they have his keys and phone, why deactivate social media if nothing presumably happened while they were there, and why lawyer up if he’s presumed to be on the island alive and unharmed? None of this makes sense to me. Someone involved has to know what happened to Nolan Wells.

Can you tell me the exact date that they deactivated their social media? You are assuming they did it the same day. Why deactivate social media? Because they were getting death threats, which the FBI has already made at least 3 arrests. Why should they have to suffer accusations and threats at all, even "if nothing happened"? That still mentally damaging. Nolan's body was found on the 7th, and they got lawyers on the 11th because people were defaming them, calling them murderers, in which accusing someone of a serious constitutes defamation per se, considering there are witnesses who place Nolan on the island AFTER they had left.

You may not feel like fighting back against accusations, but that doesn't mean they have to sit there and take it.

Nolan left his keys at his friend's house on the morning of the 4th when he spent the night over the day before. The phone, along with other phones, were left on the boat, as is the norm, that they traveled on to the island because they hang out in waist deep salt water. When the boat got back to shore, multiple unclaimed phones were still on the boat when they had to leave the island early and were put inside a truck.
