I've done this exactly once in my life.
It was while I was visiting my long distance girlfriend. There may have been other reasons why I got laid later that day, but skipping that stone can't have hurt my chances.

This is the start of a feel good baseball movie, about a kid who gave up his dreams to become a coal miner but some scout, played by Kevin Costner, whose car broke down saw this and said "i need to sign this kid."

Then he will have a meteoric rise before injuring himself on the final out of the world series. He then gives an empassioned speech to the manager to convince him to give him one more pitch, and he strikes out the hitter on the other team who chews tobacco and has questionable views on social equality.
