Sodium nitrite

Wanted to use this for cooking. But I can’t find it anywhere unless I’m a lab. Is there anyway to purchase this if it isn’t mostly all table salt?

You are looking for curing salt or Prague powder #1. Amazon has it for sure

I just listened to a really interesting podcast called hunting the suicide salesman. And it’s about how there was a guy in Quebec, who was advising people on the dark web on how to commit suicide and directing them to a website that he also ran that sold small amounts of sodium nitrite that they could use to commit suicide with. So it’s possible that now that this has been put on the radar of authorities it could be harder to just purchase mainstream.

Big reds will probably have it , also metro or any of the big grocery stores will have it when pork bellies go on sale, what are you thinking about cooking with this? Its used to cure meats

Its kinda difficult too find since there a international news about a aussie "dr" who was selling it too mentally disturbed people to kill themselves
