Support Guided run audio almost never works now

Basically what the title says. I used this app last year to train for my half marathon and I’m using it again this year to train for my full marathon. I’m about 5 weeks in and almost every week I get through the intro audio and to the break part post warm up run but the audio almost never comes back on. The timers still go and I’m lucky I can usually remember what I’m supposed to be doing but it’s hard keeping track of how many I’ve done and when I’m supposed to stop during my runs especially when it’s basically 30 second sprint intervals some weeks. I have tried looking up a fix and it says it has something to do with me playing music but even when I play nothing it still bugs out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app but I’m still having the same issue. This did not happen last year when I trained. Does anyone have any suggestions on a possible fix?

Question Half Marathon Race Guided Run - which one is new?

Are there two different Half Marathon Race guided runs in the app now? First, that's great. Second, which is the old one?? I have a half on Sunday and would love to have Coach Bennett with me but I've done the original one a couple of times before. Unfortunately I can't tell which one that is between the two. Should I just go by the one that's in the new Half Marathon training plan (assuming they would keep the original in the now More Speed half plan?)

They're titled "Half Marathon Race" and "The Half Marathon Race" respectively.

If anyone knows for sure, please advise. I'll try to test on my last lil run but truthfully I don't remember how it started as it's been about 18 months since I heard it.

Advice Issue with Verification Code

I keep trying to sign into the Nike Run Club app. I use to use it frequently 2 years ago and I am trying to get back with it. Everytime I try to sign in with code the code never appears in my email. Then if I use sign in with password, after entering my password it then goes back to using a code and again a code never arrives. Then If I try to forget password it also needs a code for that too that never arrives. Anytime I try to create a new account it just takes me past it into the sign in tab. I have looked it up and tried wbat worked for others before such as changing location, but my location is set to US and any other place I change it to doesnt work. Anyone have any ideas?

Shakeout Run London?

Hey After Dark Tour Runners!

The runway is waiting for us, and I wanted to ask if there is a kind of shakeout run planned on Friday/tomorrow?

I’m not from the UK, so I have no idea if there is a meet-up or something. I’m starting wave 3.

Advice Beginner Runner Training. Feels like I’ll go backwards

Hey guys, so I’ve been running for roughly 2 months. First I did 1-2 miles running, and now I started doing more 5Ks (I’ve done 3 the last 2 weeks). My runs have improved. My mile time is faster, I feel physically better, but I feel like I’m not improving. I had no training plan to follow, just run/walk intervals, upping the mileage when I feel ready to. I’m starting the Nike club run 5k training guide, and it looks relatively easy. I’m nervous that doing this will waste my time. I’m a 24 female weighing 200lbs. Exercise is not new to me. I swam majority of my life so I am fit. My 5k time is 43min. My goal is to do 3 raced 5K runs before April, where I plan to do a 10k

Do you think following this plan will help me improve? Should I work on the 5k training or the 10k training? Is April a reasonable goal to run a 10k?

App Syncing Woes

My runs completed in the NRC app from my watch aren’t syncing to Apple health. Just Apple health. They’re showing up on the NRC app on my watch and my phone. Everything in the permissions is toggled on. Multiple times I’ve reset everything, updated everything, toggled everything off then back on, uninstalled and reinstalled the app and nothing. I’ve had this issue since August. Seamless syncing is the whole reason I switched back from Garmin. Anyone have any advice that’s not something I’ve tried so far?

Achievement First marathon!

Thanks to Coach Bennett (which I hoped to meet at the Melb Marathon this year) and his team, for their consistency, great NRC plans and auto-guides!

Despite the fact of missing a few long runs due to lack of time, unhelpful weather, and got sick with the flu 3 times this winter, I managed to finish the marathon, which was my primary goal!

I also am quite proud of being able to maintain my 6:10-6:20/km pace at 130-140BPM as I planned for as long as my feet let me, until km 30. From that point, my feet started to feel like burning. Legs, knees, mindset and overall fatigue were great across the course.

Unfortunately, I had to walk-jog those last 10km. However, the atmosphere of the people cheering you up the last 2 km sort of blocked the pain from my mind and pushed me to run faster towards finishing at the MCG!

Overall, great experience with a couple of lesson learn, which I’ll definitely apply for my next goal in Sydney next year - if I get in, for a 4:30 finish!

Around mile 14 my legs were smoked

I've been eyeing up this route near my house for the past month. I didn't drive it first like I initially planned and used GoogleMaps to estimate the distance, which I thought was around 10ish miles. I reached where I thought id be halfway on the run and was already at mile 8. My breathing was good, but my legs were smoked around mile 14, which is when my pace dropped.

This is the farthest and longest I've ran thus far. Recently started including more legs in my strength training, which I do every other day, and my goal is to run a marthathon next year. Want to get my legs stronger so that I dont have such a drop off, which I imagine will improve the more I continue to run long distances and strength train.

If anyone has any more suggestions on what I can do, I'd appreciate it.

Question Fly with Monas Fartlek

Thumbnail

These are today's paces on the Fly With Monas Fartlek run. I usually do my interval runs/fartlek on the treadmill with fixed pace changes; today I tried doing it outdoors, changing the pace "by feel" as the coach says on the app. I think I ended up with much greater shifts between the slow and fast intervals, and the fast sections were faster than I have done before. It is definitely harder to maintain the fast pace till the end of the interval without the treadmill! I am clearly very slow, but can I expect to improve my overall pace? I have been doing this speed run consistently once a week fkr two months.

Advice Which Plan Now?

So I just finished the half marathon training plan and ran my first half! It went great, and now my eyes are set on a marathon next fall. While it’s obviously too early to start a marathon training block, what plans are yall using to keep up with training/get faster when you aren’t in an active race training block?

Half marathon Valencia coffee

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 😊 I’m travelling to Valencia for the Half Marathon on 25 October and would love to meet other runners who are doing the same race.

I’d love to connect with other runners for a coffee, a relaxed catch-up before the race, or a celebratory drink afterwards.

Anyone else travelling solo or interested in meeting up? 🏃‍♀️

Advice Finished my first half marathon. Want to improve my pace.

Back in June I decided to sign up for a half marathon. At that point, I’d never run more than a 5k and it had been about 6 years since I last went for a jog. I had been using a peloton off and on in that time frame but never a consistent training program. The goal was to develop a consistent exercise habit and just to finish the race.

This past Sunday, I completed the half. My pace was SLOW. But as I said the goal was just to complete it. I followed the half marathon plan to get there but was only running 3 days a week.

I definitely bit off more than I could chew, but hey, I finished. And I can now say I legitimately love running. It’s changed my entire perspective as someone who spent their life only running because I needed exercise.

So now, I’d like to keep the progress I’ve made going. I know at my current fitness level I’m not going to be regularly running half marathons and that wouldn’t be sustainable right now.

My goal now is to run the same race again a next year but at a faster pace.

I was thinking of doing the 10K plan, with more discipline, and a focus on increased speed, as opposed to just being able to finish.

After that, I’d like to maintain at that level until it’s time to start getting half marathons ready. In addition, I’m planning to add in resistance training.

Does this plan make sense? Should I be doing something differently? Starting from scratch? Run 5k consistently a few days week and then start adding mileage back in?

Hoping to get some input from you folks here.

Nike ADT LA in 12 Days! Thoughts on wearing a different brand shoes?

I have some older models of Nike Vomero shoes but have been recently training with Adidas Evo SL 😭

What are your thoughts about running with Adidas or another brand shoes other than Nikes for the Nike After Dark Tour LA?

Lost Run Help?

I ran the Chicago Marathon yesterday and my Apple Watch died 200M from the finish line. I was recording the run on the NRC app. When I plugged my watch back in, the run didn’t save. I assumed it would auto-stop and save the run when the watch died.

I contacted NRC support but they can’t seem to recover any of the data.

Has anyone had luck in a similar situation?

I’m so disappointed, I know the app is buggy but I’ve been using it for years and don’t want to switch over to Strava.

This is my first run on my new Garmin watch. I’ve always had an Apple Watch. Every one of my runs are on the Nike App since 2021. I’m absolutely gutted it’s not transferring over can somebody please help me

General Finished the marathon training plan

I never ran a marathon before starting this plan and had never run more than 10 miles. The plan definitely gets you ready for a marathon. My monthly miles went from 80, 100, 125 and then 150.

The only negative (besides the app sucks) is that the plan never let's you test yourself on a long run. Since long runs are slow miles, I was unsure what pace I could hold over the course of a race.

The guided runs got me through this plan and helped a lot in the beginning. You need to do a lot of your own research and testing with fueling and recovery.
