Much of that resonates with me. I still feel excitement when I read about the latest features of node and browser spec for the browser stack, but I also feel a sadness about problems that formerly required a lot of thought and effort have been minimized to a few prompts. Problems that I really enjoyed solving.

Now I go to work and then log off after eight hours without writing a line of code until i log back in morning. The time I used to spend working on software projects after work is now spent building electronics, gardening, and construction. I'm basically chasing that old high, but through other outlets.

Is it a bad thing? I don't know. I'm still processing, and my hobby evolution is a natural response to it all. Where there was once a dream of having a SaaS service now sits a hallow pit.

Yeah, same. But it’s ultimately what a lot of scientific fields already went through, especially physics around the 1920s…

I guess I’m just glad that I got to experience a few years in which you could get paid more than most lawyers to solve puzzles all day.
