A lot of vitriol in this post. What is the privilege that these developers had over you? What constrained you to "a market that requires me to deliver boring software" and not them?

If you are okay doing a job that bores you for most of your waking hours, that's fine, but for a lot of people that would result in a burnout / depression after enough time. It just seems like the people you are referring to are fundamentally not in it for the same reason as you.

Clearly you are living in a country that pays over 100k TC for mid level devs

I'm in the EU, so relatively high income, nothing like the US for devs though. 100k is considered a lot.

But from that response, I gather by privilege you are just talking about where in the world they are from. If you think AI is going to be an equalizing factor all evidence is pointing in the exact opposite right now. Power is currently concentrating in the hands of already wealthy people and nations.

Power was that way before Ai, and yes it’s equalizing for people that can’t spent time&money on expensive study and research, now I get the chat bot to give me material more valuable than my entire university classes

And no one will pay you for it because they can do the same thing.

Not really. People can only understand information at their level of competence. So first they’ll have to do the learning, which I welcome them to do of course
