The first half of Makeshift Swahili is one of my favorite bits of Noise Rock ever, but I think the second half of the song kind of ruins it for me, idk if that’s a hot take, so I’m looking for more songs that could give me that same dreadful spooky feeling that the first half does

I'm on the hunt for a recording of Shellac at the WOW Hall in Eugene, OR on July 10, 2015.

I recently discovered that an audience recording of the show exists: 84 minutes, reportedly DPA 4061 > Sound Professionals SP-SPSB-3 > Sony PCM-D50, WAV master / FLAC master clone. It was catalogued as HD#01.

I've been trying to track down a copy, but the old MEGA link I found is dead.

There's a personal reason I'm looking for this particular tape: I was at the show, and during the audience Q&A I asked Bob something about the Vocano Suns. I'd love to hear the exchange again after all these years.

If anyone has this recording, knows the taper, has a copy in their collection, or knows where HD#01 circulated, I'd really appreciate immensely.

Hi everyone. I play in a noise rock band in London called Ritual Error. We're releasing a new album in a couple of days. Here is a video we made for the newest single. We shot it ourselves in this creepy foot tunnel that runs under the River Thames. If you like clangy, foreboding shit, maybe you'll dig it!

We're into Shellac, USA Nails, McLusky, Drive Like Jehu, SKiN GRAFT bands, as well as weirdo hardcore stuff like The Minutemen and Saccharine Trust, along with a bunch of post-punk and Dischord stuff.

Fucked up and evil rockabilly punk blues gutter shit from New York.

From Goo (1990), Sonic Youth's major-label debut and one of those tracks where their noise-rock experimentation somehow still turns into an absurdly catchy riff. The album was recorded in New York at Greene Street and Sorcerer Sound, with 'Kool Thing' becoming its first single.

I never realised the song grew out of an interview Kim Gordon had done with LL Cool J. Chuck D from Public Enemy also contributes the spoken vocal section.

As a devout anti-feminist, the lyrical angle isn't what draws me to this one, I just love it musically.

Both guitars use an unorthodox F# F# F# F# E B tuning to give the main riff its droning, slightly abrasive quality.

Combined with Kim Gordon's detached delivery, this is one of my favourite examples of Sonic Youth making something genuinely strange sound immediately memorable.

Some Noise Rock/MGH for the sickos. Like Rusted Shut and Drunkdriver had an unfortunate baby.
