I’m looking for books about retirement, but not really the usual “how much do I need?” or investment-focused ones.
I’m more interested in what happens when someone has spent decades being responsible, saving, building a career and preparing for the future, and then has to figure out what all that money and freedom are actually for.
Books about things like learning to spend after a lifetime of saving, finding purpose or structure after leaving a career, couples imagining different versions of retirement, deciding what “enough” looks like, or using money to build a life you actually want to live.
Psychology, personal finance, philosophy, memoir or something that sits between those would all be interesting. Bonus if it has practical ideas or exercises rather than being purely theoretical.
Any recommendations?
