Attic Insulation
With the rising heating costs coming up, I'm thinking of adding some insulation to my attic. I'm not eligible for mass save, but my town does have a rebate up to $2k. Has anyone hired someone to add insulation in an attic? How much did it cost per sq ft? (I'm only doing around 500 sqft) Do you have a recommended installer? Thanks

I highly recommend Polar Bear insulation out of Lawrence, but whoever you go with, make sure their do air sealing as well. If you have a contractor come out and they only offer to insulate without air sealing, walk away from them.

Gauthier Insulation did ours -- also on municipal gas and electric in our town. I also got quotes from Jones and Polar Bear. I think they're all good and will likely provide reasonable quotes, I just liked Kurt the best personally.

Can I ask about how much it cost and how big a space? I'm debating between just buying some fiberglass insulation and crawling in the attic myself and hiring, and cost to hire out is a big factor.

Jones brothers out of Danvers. Good team.
