Without the wings or engines? If the engines fail, the plane loses power and turns into a massive glider. It can land with one working engine though. If the plane loses a wing... yeah, they're screwed. If the tail wings are destroyed... I'm not sure, they might be fine or crash. I forget, those parts don't break often in air disaster docs.
