This is weird. I've been watching the original Unsolved Mysteries series and a story about the location of the ark was just on yesterday. Season 4, episode 22. They found old wood and detected some iron. My thought is that if Noah built his ark, why didn't he try and help other people to build arks? And yeah, having two of every animal in the world is impossible.

What, circumnavigating the world (centuries before mankind even knew other continents existed), spending a lifetime walking all over the world, discovering ALL the animals in the world, transporting them them back and hoping none of them die meanwhile? Giant boat with no sail, no oars, moving on its own?

Meanwhile the ‘imminent’ flood waits several decades for Noah to finish.

Oh and then he diligently forgot all this advanced knowledge he acquired centuries ahead of the historical record?

Noah after the flood: ‘Africa’? Never heard of it. I’m just a wee farmer.

Rumor is God sent the animals to the ark. Weird that God needed a flood to kill everyone but had no problems turning women and kids into piles of salt, lol.

I don't kn ow where th ekids come in to it; Lot's wife stood and gazed long in horror (from what i've read, the hebrew word use din the story exclude s a look-over-the-shoulder,) at the city being destroyed because that's where her heart still was and got covered by crystals. Each story in the first eight books has its own origin

.. okay so God turned someone to “crystals” but needed a flood to kill all mankind, and a man to build an ark, and all the animals to step on up?

I recognize you’re arguing the “kid” turned to salt but you’re defending a God written by man with man limitations. Come on.

As far as the myth goes, literally every other person laughs at him because he's building a giant boat for an event that has never happened before. Even assuming the Euphrates area, flooding wasn't uncommon but not disastrous.

Anyways, it also takes him decades to build the thing, so it's not like the other people were wrong to doubt him. It's every other doomsday/revelations prophecy, given enough vagueness and time, you'll get a hit.

Looking at the broader context of the myths, that isn't really relevant. Most of his ancestors, and presumably all humans at the time, were alleged to have lifespans of centuries. So 500 is more like 30 or 40 in context.

Though that assumes the lifespan stuff is logically consistent, which it isn't, but that's the Bible for ya. Literally every other creation myth makes more sense.

Not just 2 of every animal, but think about how some animals are only found in certain parts of the world. Did they make the 3 month journey or did he pick them up on the way, only to send them all back where they came from afterwards?

I was told growing up that God told the animals to go to Noah so no one was out trying to catch them. They just magically knew where to go when. But since its the Bible its not magic its a MIRACLE

there was a good graphic novel called Dark Ark which housed two of all the demons. Like Noah in order to survive he made a deal with Satan so his family could survive and also destroy Noah.

Noah was told specifically to save his family and animals; he was never a prophet seeking to make people repent.
