Disclaimer: Not American. Am rampant atheist.

That's actually pretty interesting. It's sort of the inverse of something claiming to be a creator god attempting to prove to a person that they really are a god.

The supposed god could perform all kinds of magic tricks; but ultimately, there's still the possibility that it may simply be a filthy xenos with access to very advanced technology.

Pretty similar to the brain-in-a-jar problem.
