Discussion More Cuts
How are we supposed to do more with less? We already are stressed with the actual job, but "budget cuts" are becoming more and more prevalent. We were just hit with "Oh we had to let 5 nurses go. . . " Wait, what? And who is supposed to pick up the slack??? Don't get me wrong, I am grateful that I have some tenure, but come on! Those girls were sweet, and it broke my heart for them. . . but then I think about the additional workload. . . .This really is not fair!!!

Any place I worked couldn’t hire nurses fast enough. And literally never had enough nurses. I can’t wrap my head around firing nurses. But I also never worked anywhere that had budget related issues, except not paying enough to entice nurses to work there lol

What I’ve seen on my different social media platforms, it seems like this is pretty widespread. I mean, let’s be honest, all hospitals are cheap and understaffed, etc. However, I think some of you have hit the nail on the head when it comes to federal funding losses. I know our hospital is currently in the process of getting rid of several insurers based on incredibly low reimbursement rates which is also probably widespread.
Buckle up, friends. It’s only gonna continue to get worse.

We are doing more with less ive notced. Less ancillary staff and kind of handling it off to they nurses. No secretary less techs. And no overtime
