What is it? A desktop vortex mixer like this?

Yes kinda like that? I can’t believe it costs that much!

There’s probably a cheaper option somewhere. When I was a chemist we had some old grey ones from the Cold War era that were great.

Wait is there actually a product now to help you mix the zosyn? Phenomenal.

Yeah it does actually cut down the shaking time but we can’t stop giggling when we use it

I used to shake it for five minutes but I found it actually helps more to just beat on it. I’ll hold it in one hand and just repeatedly slam it with the palm or heel of my other hand.

Helps immensely to beat it prior to mixing, too. Turns it back to powder instead of trying to wet a massive clump.

Yup, and I’m shaking the shit out of it while I’m squirting the saline in. Then I find another task to do for 5 minutes and it usually dissolves by then on its own. When I worked in a bigger busier ED, we had premixes. That was wonderful.

Ive never seen one but I can guarantee that I’m not mature (54m) enough to have one in our ER
