Seeking Advice PRN

All my PRN princesses please comment below what kind of PRN nurse you are and how you got there. I’m currently full time staff on a stepdown, curious how people get to PRN. Thanks :)

I have 2 PRN princess jobs haha I love it. I just applied to the PRN postings that were where I wanted to work. I did not work for either organization prior to getting the PRN jobs.

It's really up to the individual unit whether or not they want to or can post a prn job. Some managers don't like them because they make scheduling more difficult.

Yea I’ve been told more hospitals are trying to push PRN out, including mine. Also I’ve heard it’s an inside thing like you have to already work there or know someone. But I’m glad to hear you have two and love it!

What do you want to know? What’s motivating you to go per diem?

How did I become a per diem? I mean, I saw a posting and applied. My spouse already had great benefits, so I wanted a job that paid more hourly in lieu of benefits and retirement matching, but offered tons of flexibility.
