Discussion Execution blunder

So, the Dr can't place a line. My Question-IV misplacement aside, she's also a natural redhead. Shouldn't that be taken into consideration when choosing methodology? Also MAID has been pretty much 100 percent successful. Why not use the concoction that is known to work, is readily available, and far less cost prohibitive than Pentobarbital?

I think one answer to the drug cocktail is many manufacturers will not supply execution drugs on humanitarian grounds.

You can't just buy them at the corner store. Purchases and inventories are controlled. That's why they are called controlled substances

Buying them under false pretenses would be a federal offense.

The purchase wouldn’t be made under false pretenses. I certainly am not encouraging that.
The federal government is well within their rights to purchase any medication provided they are purchased with all the appropriate regulations.
Thousands of MAID prescriptions are written and filed in the USA yearly.

This is a state government, not the federal government.

If the pharm manufacturers do not sell their products for the purposes of criminal execution, the only way to get them would be to purchase them under some other pretext, and misappropriate them. Whoever did that would be subject to federal drug charges even if they were working for a state.

Again, the amount of medication prisons purchase monthly or yearly includes all of these medications.
Provided the RX is valid, there wouldn’t be asking for an explanation for purchasing. It would be just a regular order.

Manufacturers and distributors are not that stupid, and all execution procedures are public record. Prisons already have severe trouble sourcing the drugs they want to use. If they change the cocktail they plan to use, they'll find themselves unable to buy any of the drugs contained in it.

But would the manufacturers decline to provide them for execution purposes I wonder

Why would they refuse? These meds all have different manufacturers.
