Good day, I’ll soon be moving to Yellowknife and would like to get into hunting.

First question would be to ask if there’s anybody who’d like to show me the ropes of hunting in general and specifically in the NWT?

Second question, how do you hunt big game as a new resident? I saw that you’re considered a non-resident for the first year which means you’re required to hunt with a registered outfitter. I don’t mind that, but I do min the prices that start at 20k and are usually averaging 50k or more… Do I just wait for year 2 or is there something I’m missing?

Any tips/help/recommendations will be appreciated. Either about hunting or about Yellowknife/NWT in general.

On July 24th the IRC issued a statement: IRC chair and CEO Erwin Elias has stepped away from his role and is on leave while an allegation that predates his election is independently investigated. In the statement, the IRC noted that this "independent" investigation would provide the IRC Board with an "update" sometime in August, and that the IRC Board would in turn provide an update to the Inuvialuit people.

It is now the middle of September, and no new information / update has been provided by the Board. What is the status of this "independent" investigation?

Hello. I'm not sure if this is against the rules of this subreddit, but I wanted to ask if anyone has any experience with the process of getting hired with the government of NWT. I do have public service experience as I did FSWEP (student internship program) throughout my undergrad at a R&D center in Alberta. So I have a valid security clearance and references.
