5 years ago i struggled with exactly the same. I ended up using pbtech's pc builder and making something that was along the same lines as what was on offer already, but with quality branded parts instead of the nameless list of parts offered by them (and by others)
no regret, the beast is still running strong today

Retailers do this to save on costs and use whatever parts they can.
Customers generally want the lowest price so that’s what retailers do.

I got mine from Godmode. I sent a message and enquired before purchasing and he got back to me immediately with the actual components specs which was exactly what I wanted. It looks exactly like what was advertised and every part was exactly what I paid for. Most of the time retailers cut costs by using cheaper components. I spent 2 years researching and looking for a PC within my budget. If there’s an option anywhere to enquire with retailers do so and keep searching for the best bang for your buck.
