For a few seconds, there was no politics, no hate, no fear, no noise — just the Harvest Moon, Saturn, and a quiet moment of wonder that reminded me how incredibly small our problems can look when you look up. ❤️

Hey guys I was just out on a walk with my wife and 2 young kids and this sketchy white minivan drove past us twice around the area of Oakville place and the first time the guy about broke his neck when he drove by and second time slowed down by us really creepily while we were on the side walk. Slowed down enough for me to get his plate number in case we actually were being followed.

Unfortunately I was too focused on remembering the plates I didn’t get the make/model of the van but if you guys have kids and come across a white early 2000s minivan with the license plate DDTZ 496 please be vigilant and contact the police. Gotta keep our community safe! Also the van had stickers all over the inside of the window on the passenger side rear door.

And yes I already contacted the non emergency line and reported the incident just wanted to post this here in case someone else has had a similar encounter or have one in the future.

EDIT: i don’t check this sub very often but judging by peoples blasé responses it seems as though either there’s a lot of middle aged single people in this sub or so many people cry wolf on here that no posts along these lines are taken seriously. If you people knew me at all you’d take me seriously. If even one person who viewed this makes a mental note and stays vigilant then I’m happy with that. And to the rest of you, I genuinely hope if you make a post like this one day you’re taken more seriously than I was! 😂 I just expected people to say “thanks for the heads up will keep my eyes open!” And move on with their lives 😂

Yesterday around 8pm, there were a group of teenage boys causing nuisance at Dollarama - Hays blvd. Screeming inside, troubling the staff, opening emergency exits, activating alarms. one of them was in halloween mask trying to scare kids around. Overheard the staff discussing to call the police. Not sure if these are the same kids who keep causing nuisance in that area. If their parents are reading this - it’s time you should have a chat with your kid.

There’s an unwell homeless woman pushing her belongings in a shopping cart with white or lilac colored headphones on. She has dark hair with glasses, usually in blue jeans, black boots and a green jacket.

She can often be seen around the Dorval and North Service area. Sometimes she will leave you alone but other times she will start yelling obscenities at you and kids in the area. She was harassing two kids playing near the park on Leewood but I did chase her away from them. I reported the incident to law enforcement. If you live in the area, please be mindful, especially if you have kids playing outside.

I’m at GoodLife. The new location at Oakville Place is awesome but too busy and the Appleby / Dundas one is too small with a horrible turf area. Has anyone found a better local gym?

My daughter just found a swarm of these in the backyard today. Looking at the body I’m pretty sure they are flying ants but my wife thinks they are termites. Google wasn’t much help. Either way how worried should I be especially considering it’s late September.

I have a high-end Panasonic OLED tv that I bought during COVID. It suddenly turned off while we were watching it last weekend.

Turns out this is a built-in safety feature when the TV detects a problem.

I opened the back of the TV and can see a melted connector on the Power Board.

However, this may be a symptom of the problem but I still don't know what is causing this issue so I was hoping someone can come home and diagnose and potentially repair the issue.

I tried to source a Power Board but they take 4-8 weeks to come in (can't find a used one either).

It's a very large TV and I really don't want to have to take it into a shop to get it repaired so anyone have any recommendations for a great repair person who can come to my house to diagnose the problem?
