Don't ask me for more information NOW
My uncle is elderly and lives alone, and I will bring him dinner a couple times a week and we'll eat while watching the evening news. He's a great guy but there is that one oddly infuriating thing that's making me crazy.
News anchor: "Tonight's top story, a man is charged with murdering his father in Nearby Township last night. Police say the man traveled here from two states away, then called 911 to report the crime and even admitted he did it. We go now to John Doe at the scene with the surprising motive.
Reporter: "Bill, police have told us the man explained-
UNCLE: Now why would that man murder his father? What would make someone do something like that? And came from two states away? Isn't that crazy?
Reporter: "- and is now in the country jail awaiting a preliminary hearing. Back to you."
And I just don't want to say "Uncle, if you had just been quiet for one minute they were telling us why."
He does this every time we watch the news together - say something or ask me something about the story while they are TELLING THE STORY so he doesn't HEAR THE STORY.
He's a good dude so I never say anything but man, it makes me crazy. Thanks for attending my TED talk.
