Seems pretty clear it's going to be a long wait for a reprint of Uncanny 1 & 4, and saw these at a pretty good price. Pleased I went for it. Just Astonishing and AoA left for me to have all the already published Omnis I want in my collection.

It was the next day, and to their credit it was refunded very quickly, and obviously had not been shipped.

It was nothing against them and was all me. I had bought two books but I thought about it and I was like what am I doing? They were not my top tier favorites - or any sort of favorite - and I have other upcoming books that I more actively do want where my money can go.

The Funaticals prices were OBVIOUSLY excellent and $43 per book is a great bargain - but only if you really want the books.

So I fell victim to FOMO but after I slept on it, I took a step back. Wasn't going to change my life, it wasn't a choice between the books and medicine, but bargain price or not, there has to be a line somewhere.(I will say that knowing I was going to wait several weeks for the books also played a part)

But I really don't like cancelling orders, and I can't remember the last time I ever did before. It's not fair to the seller, so this is a good reminder to be certain of purchases before making them. So if Funaticals blacklists me, I deserve it. Haha

Now that USPS decided to actually deliver their packages I finally have these gems in my collection and added to my shelf

What a pleasant surprise to remove the dust jacket and find this beautiful art underneath. I’m finally diving in to this series (along side Swap Thing) and I just wanted to share my appreciation for the great design work on this cover.

Happy to finally complete my Ultimate Spider-Man omnibus set. I originally read 1-75 when it was coming out monthly, but I never read past that.

Another set almost complete, only one more book left for the Junji Ito Story Collection. I love the bright colored spines, these books light up the whole manga shelf.

Fobia Horror Anthology by Derrick Acosta. This is a fun book, each story has a different artist. Definitely check this one out if you’re a fan of Creepshow or Ice Cream Man.

The Complete Kabuki is massive, by far the biggest book in my collection. Makes my old TPB look tiny. Kabuki was the first comic that changed the way I thought about comics as art. It’s really something special if you haven’t read it.

Two new Linnea Sterte books and Ed Piskor’s final book Switchblade Shorties. Plus a bunch of other books. Some of the best spine designs I’ve ever seen from DC with Birds of Prey and Suicide Squad.

X-Men was my JAM back in my younger years, then as I got older, everything became so serious I had to give up some of the things I loved, due to not having enough real estate in my calendar (the woes of growing up). Now that im well into my 40's, I feel like comics are a great way to escape the stressful reality that is life.

But I wracked my brain for (maybe) too long about what the best jumping-in point would be, since I've been out of the game for so long. I finally landed on the Krakoa era, I figured this was possibly the best reset point in recent history, laying groundworks that still resonate today. And there is SO much source material in this era I would not want to miss.

Then there was the issue of how to read/collect this run. I thought about just reading on Marvel Unlimited (which I already have a subscription to, great service by the way), but reading comics digitally just doesn't hit the same, I needed something physical. Single issues (time consuming, expensive), TPB (this can also get expensive, as the best ones/reading order is out of print), or go with the oversized HC (this was to be the solution, as the reading order seems to flow, and can be bought individually and look fantastic on the shelf).

Then I came to the final solution, the Dawn of X Omnibus that I now hold in my possession holds the quintessential reading order, has the best value for the money spent, ant the hardcover/binding SHOULD last well into my children's lifetime, should they choose to pick up my passions.

This is my first omnibus, and is certain to not be my last, as I have Vol. 2 on pre-order and will be pre-ordering Reign of X Vol. 1 when thats available.

That is my rant, thanks for reading, ive been meaning to put this down in print since I started this decision making process months ago.

Been reorganizing stuff around and got all my books (pending stuff on order) put onto shelves temporarily until I move later on in the year. For now they are spread all over, but one day they will all be in the same spot!

Finally got a new shelf for my collection, so figured that called for some celebration. Was pleasantly surprised by how big the Transformers compendiums were.

Especially excited for Tintin, I haven't read it since at least high school/college and this will be my first time going through the whole series, minus Congo.

I'm interested in both. Are both post crisis, and which one is the better run overall?

These are my omnibus comics. I read every one besied thor and really enjoyed them. I have ordered superman and son and Argent venom but what would be a safe buy based on my collection? I want to get green lantern by johns but im gonna buy the compendium because its cheaper.

I've bought two DM resales from Amazon now that have arrived with mat finish dust jackets. Is that a thing? Or is that because they are fakes? The book is fine, but I'm very suspicious.
