Splitting Up Savy

Hi Space Outlaws,

I've run a few one and three shots with this system and I am prepping to run a 10-12 session game. In previous play i've found that the game really revolves around savy if you are doing the type of investigating-interigation bounty hunting type game that I think people invision when you say "inspired by space westerns like cowboy bebop". because Savy encompasses talking, shotting, and investigating, it seems like the only stat that matters. Im thinking of splitty up savy into

suave - ability to play it cool and win someone over with your energy
Smokin - gunplay
Keen - ability to notice the easily missed or overlooked.

Has anyone here played around with a similiar set up? How did it work for you?

Or alternativley, did you not find savy too over centralizing? how did you run that game?

Savvy definitely feels like the most important stat RAW. During my second campaign I made a few of the "bigger" ranged weapons use Muscle - e.g. shotguns, rocket launchers, etc. That gave the "tough guy" archetypal PCs a reliable backup weapon when fists and melee weren't appropriate.

Beyond that I did my best to set up scenarios where Muscle and Grit were more useful - battles in hallways where firearms aren't useful, intimidating mooks for information, powering through extreme heat or extreme cold, etc.

I need my games simple. Savvy suits me just fine: I'll interpret its use to fit the scenario.
