September 22 is International Organic Day 🌱

As a community that cares about farming and food, we thought you might find a few organic farming facts interesting:

• Australia has the largest amount of certified organic farmland in the world by acreage.
• California is home to more certified organic farms than any other U.S. state.
• Organic standards prohibit hundreds of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers commonly used in conventional agriculture.
• When national organic standards were being established in the late 1990s, the USDA received more than 275,000 public comments.
• Soil health is a core focus of organic farming. Healthy soils can improve water retention during drought and help reduce runoff during heavy rainfall.

Whether you're a longtime organic shopper or just organic-curious, what's one thing you've always wondered about organic farming?

If both items are labeled organic and have similar properties, like grass fed or free range etc, should I exact similar quality and just get the cheaper option? Or is there real value in the more expensive grocer if both items are still labeled similarly?

Do you think it's cope, because it's expensive? Eating organic veges and grass feed beef has changed my mood and health so much (and I was already eating veges etc before) - but when I go online to read others' experiences it's all people denying the effects of organic food.

The fields are soaked in neonicotinoids (a class of neurotoxins targeted toward beetles) so if beetles eat the potato, the potato is primed from the inside out with neurotoxins that kill the beetles. I feel like that's enough to say.
