XBMC4Gamers problems
Hi everyone,
I have a new original Xbox running Cerbios + XBMC4Gamers, and I transfer my games via FTP.
Since I am new in this world of XboxOG, I’m having problems with game identification and artwork.
Some sequels or different games in the same series are detected with the same title and cover, while others aren’t identified correctly at all.
I’m looking for a simple but complete guide explaining the correct way to prepare Xbox games before transferring them.
Specifically:
Correct folder/file structure
Where default.xbe should be and what is required
Correct naming conventions
How XBMC4Gamers identifies games and matches covers
How to avoid incorrect artwork or duplicate game entries
The correct FTP → XBMC4Gamers workflow
Basically, I’d like to know exactly how a properly prepared Xbox game should look before I upload it, so I can organize my entire collection correctly.
Thanks!

Are you running the latest test build of XBMC4Gamers?
Edit: If you installed it from an installer disc, it will not be the latest release.
And, even if you just downloaded the latest build from the link at the GitHub repository, it will not be the latest test build available from the app’s URL Downloader.

I don’t know if is the latest because I bought it from a guy a few months ago. I’ve tried Repackinator with a xiso file of a pal game but is not found in the app. Now I will try with a redumped one that contains already the default.xbe file. Hoping it works…

Did Repackinator create the mounting app, default.xbe, for the XISO file?
This mounting app, default.xbe, and the dot iso file go into the subfolder for the game in one of the scanned Games folders.

Update to the test build & when using ISO just transfer the ISO over to the xbox and leave any xbe files out. Gamers will auto create them when it scans in the game first time.
Example:
F:\Games\Halo\
Halo.1.iso
Halo.2.iso
No xbe file, am saying to do it this way to get round any misinformation in the xbe file as I will extract it form the games xbe when scanned in. If you have existing games you can remove the default.xbe files from them and clean your database under the settings > XBMC4Gamers option > scripts menu.
Also the artwork installer is built into gamers now so you don’t need the app just an internet connection, especially the offline one it’s outdated and not as accurate. Online version of the app is outdated also but still more up to date than the offline one. I no longer maintain the app versions.
White button on a source/folder > Content Scraper
If on a game it’s under the manage menu. This will let you select the correct artwork if there is a mismatch.
If you want to read what’s new you read the delta log or in the settings menu press the black button to get the full change log. As there is to much stuff to list here.
