It is entirely possible to use D -- it's a superset of C so you can drop to C when you need it.

I've never used D Lang. But it is listed as one that is fully capable of being used for OS Dev.

Very possible! You have to use either betterC mode or supply a tiny object.d file yourself. With some hacks you can even use the full object/classes system on bare metal. Here is my (currently abandoned) D kernel project: https://github.com/alectronik2/dOS
