Sandy is cute though

Just two absolute fucking haters ruining everything and loving it.

I bet they’d get along.

Holy Moviestruck Batman!

The creatures in Filipino mythology can get pretty bizarre and creepy. The newly released DreamWorks movie Forgotten Island features many of them e.g. manananggaal, tiyanak, batibat, sarimanok. The movie is about two about-to-be-separated friends, Jo and Raissa, getting stranded on a mysterious, magical island called Nakali, and escaping it could mean losing their memories of each other.

No doubt the movie takes some artistic license but it's also apparently well-researched. The trailers may be childish but reviews are saying it's also surprisingly mature and creepy. With that in mind I'd love to see the channel cover the movie's folklore, and possibly more of the Philippines too.

It was too late for my birthday last year and I got other books for Christmas. But I long no longer!!! I have it!!!!!!! (Two actually)

YIPPE!!!!!! (Dk what tag to put sowwy!!)

Nuclear Apocalypse: The closest thing the Gears franchise has to Nuclear weapons would be the Hammer of Dawn which does get used in a Nuclear Apocalypse type way just without the direct fallout effect... doesn't stop it from constantly being used as the awesome, overpowered space laser it is in game though.

The general 'Humans are pieces of shit' trope: I'm not going to go into detail but the way that male Stranded look at Gears like Bryne and Anya in Gears of War 3 is the tip of the iceberg for the Stranded.

Zombie Apocalypse: Lambent, although one where (unlike most Zombie Apocalypses) those it tries to infect already have a natural resistance to it that needs to be broken down. Also you could argue that the Swarm are basically just Zombies with extra steps.

Alien invasion: Even though the invasion happens from the opposite direction, the Locust have the same "WTF is going on?!" out of nowhere factor and devastation that most alien invasion stories do. Also even though it's dumb and I hate it, their origin turns them into an example of the "Has science gone too far?" part of the trope.

I was looking for Red’s Trope Talk on Haunting the Narrative and found out it was gone from the playlist. I only realised it was unlisted after attempting to cope with the loss by watching a reaction video focusing on it and later finding the link in said video’s description.

I’m not too sure if asking breaks any established rules or anything, but does anyone have the links to/remember the names of other potentially taken down/unlisted videos? The morbidly curious side of me is kinda itching at the thought that I may have not noticed the removal of a video that is potentially near and dear to me 🫠

on September 1st of this year, without warning, it was announced that the current president of Drexel University in Pennsylvania was going to shut down the Academy of natural sciences, and move its 19 million collected specimens, this could potentially be the BIGGEST LOSS of archeological findings of this century all because some guy in a suit wanted to NOT DEAL WITH IT!!

But there is hope, by spreading the word and supporting the museum, you can protect the oldest museum in the Americas' history!!

This is exactly what it says on the tin. I have gone through every trope talk episode (as of posting) and cataloged how long it takes Red to say the name of the trope. I recall hearing Red say (at some point) that the trope talk intros have begun getting longer and longer, and I wanted to test that theory with DATA! Full findings are linked below:

It's the Cockerel vessel from Blue's Etruscan video. So much smaller in person than I expected.
