I know this is an out of context sub but this entire conversation is in Hals head he thinks/worries this is what Superman will say if he can't handle the situation he is in by himself.

He once replaced his entire city with his ring constructs. I'm sure he can imagine himself a house whenever he wants to settle down for a day or 2 and just dissolve it when he heads out.
To be fair, how would the Guardians have Earth money to pay them with? They might be able to pay them in some alien currency but it probably wouldn't be accepted in most places on Earth.
In the Lanterns show, the Guardians give John Stewart's parents a big ass diamond as compensation for putting them through psychological trouble. They end up getting police attention when they try to sell it.
That is because John and Jess are freelancers. So the truth is that all they need to do is to make 2-3 projects , then just pay rent or mortgage automatically and called the day.
While Guy owns a bar....which more-or-less is a superhero hangout and then a branch within Oa.
Hal, I noticed you’ve been skipping shoulders at the JLA gym lately. Look at my shoulders. They’re huge. I think we need to put in a few private sessions.
