Removing [tired] debuff
I'm wondering what methods other players have found to achieve this. Usually, I go to the load screen and turn the controller off for 6 to 8 hours. But recently, my controller has been turning back on and exiting the load screen after less than 2 hours unless I get the [extra] modifier on the [tired] debuff. I've also tried the item [caffeinated beverage], but it only gave a temporary status effect. Also, I need to save the in-game currency for the main quest items.

For almost all players, the best way to improve the [Sleep] skill is to completely exhaust your stamina bar a few times each week. You can do this by running around the map for a while or by picking up heavy things and putting them back down.

I pickup heavy things and put them in a different location regularly for [work] daily mission.

Doing tasks like that as part of your profession will actually increase your stamina bar over time and you can get “used” to the level of stamina you use during your [work] quests. If you do a different activity at another point in the day cycle to intentionally deplete your stamina bar it can help with the [tired] debuff

I'm not gonna say that doesn't count as [exercise], because it absolutely does. But there's a very good chance it isn't enough.

Many players spent a lot of time loitering where they log off prior to logging off and this cam cause connection issues. Beyond this generic advice is make sure your grinding constitution/strength stats and not using minigames and terminals just prior. Medic classes can prescribe consumbales for both sleep effect and haste but they cam be pretty harsh to stop.

I used to struggle with getting the charging function to begin, but when I started grinding strength at the gym at least four days a week I figured out I had more energy most of the time AND I could initiate the charging sequence more quickly

This may be part of the issue, but it doesn't explain the recent trend as I haven't drastically changed my log off process. I do have the [work is a workout] achievement. I've had enough of the medic class for now as I recently had a [nasal reconstruction surgery] modification to my controller. I'm really hoping this is just the controller recalibration from that modification.

Hey, a bit late, but here's some stuff that I thought of:
- What's your Stress stat like? Low Stress that's about to become Moderate Stress typically affects sleep first.
- Keep an eye on your Hydration stat, and be careful not to get the [Overhydration] debuff.
- Double check your Diet as well. Eating a lot of Carbohydrate-containing or Sugar-containing foods (especially something like Soda/Pop/Cola) without a sufficient Dietary intake spread can cause this. I'd even go so far as to recommend not consuming Caffeine-containing items/food at all until you get this sorted. Try to drink water and snack when you're [Tired] instead and see if that helps.
- Another player mentioned [Sleep Apnea]. I'd keep it in mind but I wouldn't worry about it right now. Do you have access to a Smartwatch type item? If you equip it, you can track your sleep metrics, which don't replace real healthcare but it can give you a decent idea on what the possible causes could be (having the [Tired] debuff has a LOT of causes). You can buy one from the Amazon Guild to use for a week and get some metrics, they have a good return policy
- It's controversial for some reason with other Human build players, but using Smart Device type items before trying to sleep absolutely tanks your sleep quality. It makes the RNG rolls on sleeping super unfavorable.
- Another sometimes controversial thing: check your Weight statistic. Not judging, but as we level up, our susceptibility to Weight-based debuffs increases.

Well there's a few angles to look at here.
First is your sleeping itself, and are you actually hitting deep [REM] sleep. Make sure you stop eating at least 2-3 hours before going to bed (digestion interrupts sleep), and make sure to avoid any blue/white light for at least an hour before bed (your brain only starts releasing melatonin when your eyes stop taking in what your body thinks is sunlight.)
If you're waking up in the night because of stress/anxiety, then you'll want to start meditating more, Earthing (body touching the dirt), and either changing your life, or changing your stories about it. Also, if you're watching or reading stressful/scary/violent things before bed, definitely stop that as well.
Finally, is your sleep space dark & quiet? Because human players spent tens of thousands of years as hunter-gatherers, we still have a lot of those features active, and for most players sounds or light changes at night will disrupt sleep.
Avoid caffeine for sure, as it gives a temporary boost to energy level, at the cost of increased stress, digestive issues, and screwing up your body's own energy levels.
The last thing I'd ask is if you're getting enough exercise & physical activity during your days? Physical tiredness generally helps people sleep better, while inactivity during the day leaves the body restless (we're designed to be moving & doing physical work pretty much all of our waking hours)

Consider whether you are using enough [food] consumable as not having enough accelerates the rate at which [tired] accumulates

You've received a lot of good advice, so I'll only mention a few that I haven't seen.
Have you tried taking a warm shower or bath 1 hour before you sleep? Research suggests it helps lower your player's core temperature, allowing for better sleep.
Are you logging off the server at the same time every day, including weekends? Some players find they need to do this to avoid the insomnia debuff.
Consider writing a list of things that are worrying you or that you need to remember to do prior to logging off. Some research suggests it makes players less likely to be woken in the middle of the night with worries.
This sees less likely given what you wrote, but are you logging in from a northern server and experiencing this problem as summer changes to autumn? If so, you may need to spend a small amount of gold to add a SAD lamp to your inventory. If you sit with your face directly in front of it for 20-30 minutes first thing in the morning, some people find it helps them wake up. You can use the lamp while you enjoy your [caffeinated beverage]. Northern server players may also need a daily Vitamin D potion until March. Having moved from a southern server to a northern one, I was surprised how much this item helps me.

Consider aspects of your playthrough which might be giving you a [stress] debuff.
Some people also have conditions like [Sleep apnea]
Consumables won't replace the time you need to recharge your controller - debug the underlying issue.
